On the 18th March evening our medical team leader Dr. Htoo Kyaw Linn and Snow Aye went to Pho Hlaing Chaung village together various volunteers who had previously helped us to dig a well in this village.
In 2008, this village was hit by Cyclone Nargis and over 60 people died. Some of the children still experience post-traumatic stress and many families only have one parent.
Upon arrival of our team, the monastery was full of villagers, waiting to get medical treatment by our doctor.
The doctor and Snow set up the mobile clinic and the treatments commenced at 1 p.m. and continued until 9:30 at night. The next day, more villagers were seen to. In total, 106 patients were treated from this village and also surrounding villages.
