On 3rd September we went to Twante, which is situated about 50 km from Yangon and which is famous for its pottery makers from lower Myanmar. We donated exercise books at Man Pyay Thartanayeikthar Parahita (which mean “for the benefit of many”) monastic education school. Inside the small school building, made with bamboo, and covered with tarpaulin, 144 children receive basic education. All of their school fees, exercise books and stationary are cared for by a monk and their teachers are semi-volunteers. Our next project will be the donation of school materials to children, who are in real need. This will cost around 5-7 US$ per child per year for text books, exercise books and pens and pencils.
